Bastian Andre Johnson Blue Santa

Students at HISD’s Bastian ES got some early holiday cheer on Dec. 10 when Houston Texans wide receiver André Johnson came to the campus to distribute gifts alongside Houston Police Department Chief Charles McClelland. Johnson’s charitable foundation joined forces with Blue Santa Houston, a non-profit organization supported primarily by donations from HPD employees, to underwrite the donation. All 702 students received at least one gift, and 60 lucky students were also surprised with new bicycles as an acknowledgement of their hard work in the areas of attendance, academics, and behavior.
